FAQ

The following questions come up again and again. Use the time you would have spent emailing crafting up something awesome.

Earning Money with Craftcore

  • How often do my ads display and where are they located?

    1. Your ads will display on your pages 80% of the time; Craftcore’s ads will display the remaining 20% of the time.
    2. You earn 100% of the money from clicks that occur when your Google AdSense ID is active on the page. You cannot click on your own ads nor your friends’ ads: this is click-fraud and is against both Google AdSense’s and Craftcore’s Terms of Use.
    3. Your ads can appear on the individual articles that you have written and on the page listing all articles in your profile (http://craftcore.ca/author/yourusername).

    6. Troubleshoot Module:

      1. Leave this field blank on your settings while you check to make sure your ads are running correctly. This will cause an informative box to appear on your article pages, viewable only to the article author. Don’t worry: no one else will see this information box.
      2. New AdSense ad units may take half an hour to be created, so when you view your article pages and refresh the page, you may see a blank space where your ad should be 80% of the time. This is normal.
      3. Once you are able to view ads on your page consistently with no blank spaces 100% of the time, log back into your Google AdSense account to check if page views are being counted. Click on Performance Reports from the main menu, then click Custom Channels from the sidebar. You will see a list of all your channels. Scan down the page views column of the data table and see if the page views are above zero.
      4. If your account is counting page views for each of the four ad sizes, you are done! Yay! Type OFF in capital letters into Craftcore’s Troubleshoot Module textbox to dismiss the troubleshooting module from appearing on the page. If after 24 hours, no page views are being counted for one or all of your ad units, please double-check that your Ad Slot ID values are correct! You can regenerate the code of any ad unit by clicking on My ads on the AdSense site and clicking Get code under each ad unit’s name.
    7. Opting out of the Craftcore revenue-sharing program

If you do not wish to participate in the revenue-sharing program, simply type NO (in all caps) in the text field for each of the four sizes and type OFF in the Troubleshoot Module text box.
